Abstract

The Second Karabakh War was one of the prominent examples of the use of modern weapons in changing the balance of power. In addition to increasing the speed and accuracy of attacks, these weapons affected the course of conflicts and caused changes in military strategies. Some analyses show that these technological tools affected the rate of human casualties and tactical superiority and affected the outcome of the war. The Second Karabakh War is an example of military developments based on modern technologies. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of modern weapons on changing the balance of power in the Second Karabakh War. The main question of the research is what effect did the use of modern weapons have on the course of the Second Karabakh War? In this regard, the research hypothesis is based on the premise that in the Second Karabakh War, the use of modern weapons such as drones and guided systems affected military power and the balance of power. The research findings, obtained using a descriptive-analytical method, show that in the Second Karabakh War, modern weapons, especially drones, had an impact on the course of the conflicts and were among the factors influencing the change in field conditions. As a result, the role of modern technologies in military conflicts has been highlighted and the importance of modern war tools in the future has been given more attention than ever before.
